The "curse" of injuries continued to haunt the French national team, as after sidelining the team's top stars, it now threatens to sideline one of the most important "weapons" of the attack.
Kingsley Coman left the French national team training on Thursday, two days before the World Cup holders' match against Denmark in Group D.
Coman left the field without any obvious injury during the training session in which all players participated, including Raphael Varane, who missed France's opening match, a 4-1 win over Australia, due to not recovering from a hamstring injury.
A Reuters source said that 26-year-old Coman felt some muscle pain in a friendly match against a local team on Wednesday.
The injury could mean Coman's absence from the French national team squad in the World Cup, which would be a very strong blow because he is one of the great talents in the winger position.
Coach Didier Deschamps’ team has suffered several injuries, with striker Karim Benzema removed from the squad last Saturday, and Lucas Hernandez leaving the tournament after sustaining a serious injury against Australia.
France tops Group D with three points, two points ahead of Denmark and Tunisia.
