Starting April 1, the blue checkmark on Twitter accounts will cost $84 per year.
This was announced by the company in a tweet on Thursday, according to American media sources, noting that the blue checkmark indicates that the user's profile and identity have been verified by the platform.
Users will be able to pay $84 annually or $8 monthly to have their account verified.
April Fools'?
But beware, some are already wondering if this is an April Fools' joke, as the new policy is supposed to take effect on April 1 for real.
