Owners of the new electric truck Cybertruck, produced by the American electric car manufacturer Tesla, have expressed their concerns about the possibility of external parts of the truck rusting.

This comes while Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of Tesla, spoke during the celebration of the launch of the light electric truck about the use of "super hard stainless steel" in the manufacturing of the truck body and "transparent metal" in its glass parts.

The rust problem was initially discussed by a group of truck users on the "Cybertruck Owners Club" website. A user named Raxer said that rust appeared on his truck shortly after purchase, and after only two days of rainy weather.

Raxer wrote, "Small orange spots appeared, they were very small, but they appeared. Of course, I did not wash the truck since I bought it, but it was exposed to two days of rain."

Another user named "Vertigo" wrote that he also noticed the appearance of orange spots on the body of his truck shortly after receiving it in early February. He added that he took the truck to Tesla to treat these spots, but they told him that the equipment and materials needed to fix them are not currently available and will be available next month.

It is noteworthy that after 4 years of the announcement of the development project of the light electric truck Cybertruck, the American electric car manufacturer Tesla delivered the first batch of the truck to customers, where Musk personally handed over a number of them to their owners.

However, the price of the truck came much higher than all previously announced expectations and estimates.

When the new truck was unveiled 4 years ago with an expected start of production in late 2021, the supposed price ranged between $40,000 and $70,000, but with the recent delivery of the truck, the price of the cheapest category reached $61,000, while the price of the highest category reached $100,000.

With the introduction of the light electric truck Cybertruck, Tesla is entering one of the most profitable segments of the car market in the United States, where light trucks are among the most popular vehicles. Last year, the Chevrolet Silverado light truck was the best-selling vehicle in the U.S. market. In previous years, the Ford F truck, in its various categories, was the best-selling vehicle in the market.

Musk recently said that Tesla aims to produce 250,000 Cybertrucks annually, but it may not be able to achieve that before 2025.
