The City of Ottawa announced that Highway 417 will be closed again in both directions at the end of the month for LRT construction, after two weeks of a major closure on Highway 417 to replace the Bronson Avenue Bridge.

The City of Ottawa also added that the Highway 417 and selected ramps will be closed in both directions between Woodroffe Street and Greenbank Road starting Friday, July 28 at 11 p.m. until Monday, July 31 at 5 a.m.

The city also stated in a press release on Monday that the closure is required as part of the Western Phase Two extension, to install a pedestrian bridge, which would enhance neighborhood connectivity and provide direct access to the future Queensview station from Baxter Road.

The following roads will also be closed:

 The eastbound road from Richmond Road

 The eastbound road from Pinecrest Road 

 The east ramp leading to Woodroffe Street

The westbound ramp from Maitland Avenue

 The westbound ramp from Woodroffe Street

The west ramp leading to Pinecrest Road 

Turns in both directions will be unavailable during the closure. Drivers heading west on Woodroffe Street will exit, travel north on Woodroffe to Carling Street, then west on Carling, re-entering the highway either from Pinecrest Road or Richmond Road.

Drivers heading east from the highway will exit at Greenbank Road, turn south on Greenbank to Baseline Road, then east to Woodroffe Street and north to return to 417.

Traffic on Highway 417 resumed Monday morning after the rapid bridge replacement on Bronson. Traffic began flowing along Queensway between Metcalfe Street and Carling Street before 4:30 a.m., after 80 hours of highway closure for construction.

Bronson Street remains closed between Catherine Street and Chamberlain until July 27.

417 will also be closed from August 10 to 14 to replace the Percy Street Bridge.
