Canada has experienced a state of concern among the Canadian government and the Canadian people due to the rise in cases of monkeypox in Ontario.

The Ontario health authority reported that monkeypox infections have increased, with 67 cases reported between early January and June 15.

The authority also noted that during the statistics it monitored throughout the past year, there were only 33 confirmed cases of monkeypox.

Additionally, the authority stated that more than 95% of the recently infected cases in Ontario were among men, disproportionately affecting gay and bisexual men and other men who have sex with men.

The Toronto Public Health declared that two doses of the Mpox vaccine could reduce the risk of disease and symptoms by up to 83%.

The prominent symptoms of monkeypox include the appearance of small, hard, dome-shaped bumps on the skin, which is highly contagious and spreads through direct skin contact with an infected person or by touching objects contaminated with the virus.

It is worth noting that monkeypox tends to be more prevalent on the faces of children, and on the neck, armpits, arms, and hands, and it may appear in adults in the genital area.
