Canada temporarily suspends its diplomatic activity in Sudan

Canada announced, this Sunday morning, the temporary suspension of its diplomatic activities in Sudan, stating that Canadian diplomats will temporarily operate from a safe location outside the country.

The Canadian government stated in a statement that while activities in Khartoum are suspended, limited consular services will continue to be provided.

The battles between the conflict parties in Sudan have caused a humanitarian crisis.

Foreign countries are seeking to carry out evacuation operations, after the United States said that its special forces helped American embassy staff leave the country.
