Canada denied what Hebrew media circulated that Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Mark Miller stated during his visit to Tel Aviv days ago, supporting Ottawa's voluntary immigration of Palestinians to his country.

Government communications advisor Jeffrey MacDonald said Ottawa is working with its partners in the region to evacuate its citizens, Canadian residents, and their family members who meet the necessary conditions from the Gaza Strip and is providing the necessary facilitation in this regard.

He added that Canada will launch an immigration program allowing Gaza Strip residents who have Canadian relatives to apply for a temporary visa, prioritizing their applications and their evaluation processes.

MacDonald denied the accuracy of what the Hebrew media circulated that the Canadian Minister of Immigration stated his country's support for the "voluntary immigration" of Palestinians to Canada, confirming that "this news is false and has no truth."

The communications advisor's response came after the Hebrew newspaper "Israel Hayom" mentioned that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a recent meeting with Likud party members in the Knesset (parliament) that "Our problem is the countries willing to receive the refugees.. We are working to solve this problem."

In a speech during the meeting, MP Danny Danon referred to the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, noting that the Canadian Minister of Immigration spoke publicly about the matter during his visit to Tel Aviv.

The MP called for forming a team concerned with the immigration of Palestinians to other countries, to which Netanyahu responded by saying: "We are working for this."
