Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that his country has imposed a "third package of sanctions" on Russia due to its invasion of Ukraine, noting that these sanctions specifically target Russian President Vladimir Putin, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, as well as the Belarusian regime "which facilitated this invasion."
Trudeau said, "We will impose sanctions on President Putin and his associates who engineered this barbaric war," considering that "these men bear the greatest responsibility for the death and destruction occurring in Ukraine," also noting that his country "strongly supports" the expulsion of Russia from the SWIFT international banking system.
