Among Ontario patients currently being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care units, there are 27 unvaccinated and 90 fully vaccinated.
The vaccination status of the remaining patients is unknown. Officials also reported 16 new COVID-19 deaths. Officials said 15 deaths occurred within the past thirty days, while one occurred more than a month ago.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 12,858 people have died from the disease. With 11,755 tests processed in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health says the positivity rate in the province is about 13.2 percent.
The province reported 1,547 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, but health officials warned the number is lower than reality due to testing restrictions and backlog.
