There is a new coin in Canada that you can get bearing the image of an ancient Egyptian god.

The Royal Canadian Mint recently unveiled this unique oval-shaped coin that looks like an artifact from ancient times.

Although the Mint issues circulating Canadian coins such as the dollar and the two-dollar coin, you may not know that you can also get international commercial coins from around the world through the Royal Canadian Mint.

This includes a pure silver 200 franc coin for 2024 - Anubis, which is the latest international coin offered by the Royal Canadian Mint.

The issuing country is Djibouti, a country in Africa, but you can still get it in Canada.

This unique coin is part of a series exploring ancient Egyptian culture and features Anubis, one of the most famous gods among the ancient Egyptians.

Anubis, the god of funerary rites with the head of a jackal, was part of the transition from life to death and resurrection.

This pure silver coin weighing three ounces shows the ancient Egyptian god with the body of a man and the head of a jackal.

Not only does it feature ancient Egyptian images, but the coin's antique finish makes it look like an ancient artifact.

On both sides of the new coin is a three-dimensional bust of Anubis with relief-like carvings and ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic writings in the background.

The obverse also shows the mint year - 2024 - alongside Anubis and "Legends of Egypt" at the top, and the national emblem of Djibouti at the bottom.

According to the Mint, there is a limited number of coins amounting to 1999, and all previous editions were sold very quickly.

The face value of this international coin is 200 francs, the currency of Djibouti.
