Protesters in British Columbia promise a renewed round of civil disobedience starting next week.

The Save Old Growth group says it will lead to "disrupting critical infrastructure in British Columbia" starting Monday. Activists refused to provide details on what will be targeted, saying in a statement on Thursday that they "will not announce anything in advance, but it will be posted on social media when it begins."

The group made headlines last month when members dumped manure in front of the office of Premier John Horgan in Langford, British Columbia.

Previous actions by the group mostly involved closing roads and bridges on Vancouver Island.

The government announced a delay in logging on more than one million hectares of old-growth forests, but has not issued a full ban on old-growth logging as demanded by activists.

Group coordinator Zain Haq said in the statement: "Protecting the last remaining old forests we have is a no-brainer." "Through our civil resistance efforts, we will create political urgency for the government to represent the will of the people instead of serving the forestry lobby."

Save Old Growth has identified itself as a member of the A22 network, an emerging environmental civil resistance alliance with members in Canada, the United States, Australia, and Europe.

The network said in its founding declaration in April, "We are not here for spotlight, advocacy, or entertainment." "We are here to force governments to reduce carbon emissions, nothing less. We are here for action, not just words."
