The British Daily Mail newspaper reported that the British Royal Military Academy Sandhurst took a bold step and decided to expel 7 students from the UAE due to the luxurious lifestyle they lived during the training, noting that the matter caused a major problem to the extent that the military police are investigating allegations of giving extremely large bribes.
The British Daily Mail newspaper pointed out that the students offered expensive gifts to each of Sandhurst’s trainers, including BMW cars, Mercedes cars, and Rolex watches, in addition to expensive trips, noting that oil-rich countries pay very high fees and amounts of money in exchange for their relationship with Sandhurst.
It mentioned that the UAE built a new residential building there called Banna Zayed at a cost of 15 million pounds sterling, and the Daily Mail reported that the expulsions come at a time when the relationship is experiencing tension with the UAE, as a British court ordered the ruler of Dubai to pay a record amount of 554 million pounds sterling to settle disputes with his former wife, Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, over the custody of their children.
