Saudi Arabia sends a shipment of humanitarian aid to Ukraine

The Saudi Press Agency announced yesterday, Friday, October 14, 2022, that the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, made a phone call to the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The agency said that Zelensky thanked the Saudi Crown Prince for his readiness to intervene in mediation efforts aimed at finding a solution to the crisis caused by the Russian war on Ukrainian territory.

In this context, the Saudi official agency clarified that Zelensky thanked the Saudi Crown Prince for the decision of the Saudi leadership to provide an additional humanitarian aid package to Ukraine amounting to 400 million dollars, which will help alleviate the suffering of Ukrainian citizens amid the ongoing crisis in the country.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had announced that he agreed with the Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to "cooperate in releasing prisoners and providing financial aid to Ukraine."

Zelensky added, in a tweet, "I spoke with the Saudi Crown Prince by phone and thanked him for supporting the unity of Ukraine's territories."

Zelensky concluded by saying, "We agreed to cooperate in the release of prisoners of war and to provide complete financial aid to Ukraine."
