Federal officials announced the seizure of 109 kilograms of "elvers" in Toronto Pearson International Airport.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans conducted the seizure in collaboration with members of the Canada Border Services Agency.
The value of the seized items is estimated to be between $400,000 and $500,000.
Federal data shows that 149 people have been arrested for crimes related to "elvers," with nearly 208 kilograms of them confiscated so far this year.
