Apple announced that it will offer the new Apple Maps experience with detailed 3D buildings and an improved navigation system to Canada. Starting with Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, the app now supports more accurate 3D representations of buildings and navigation. MacRumors quoted Apple's Head of Services Eddy Cue saying: "We are excited for Apple Maps users to explore the beauty and culture of Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver in a new incredibly detailed way." This update was "created with privacy at its core, continuing our commitment to building the best and most accurate maps in the world, with a beautifully designed experience and attention to detail that only Apple can provide." The new Apple Maps experience was already available in some American cities, such as New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, as well as London. The 3D mode can be accessed by clicking 3D in the sidebar menu on the iPhone. Maps now feature improved road details to help drivers navigate cities more easily. Turn lanes, medians, bus lanes, taxi lanes, and crosswalks are clearly displayed for navigation through busy intersections. Additionally, new pedestrians can now benefit from immersive walking directions and more powerful public transit maps.
