A report by the FBI revealed that Angelina Jolie accused her ex-husband Brad Pitt of intimidating her and their six children while intoxicated during a physical confrontation on their private plane in 2016. According to NBC News, "Jane Doe" recently filed a lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) against the FBI, demanding the public release of the federal report. NBC stated that the anonymous filing claimed that "the husband physically and verbally assaulted the plaintiff and the children, who suffered permanent physical and mental trauma as a result of the assault," while Jolie, 47, did not publicly comment on the FOIA request or the alleged 2016 incident, nor did Pitt, 58, respond, although a "source close to Brad Pitt" told People magazine on Wednesday that Jolie is seeking FBI reports in an attempt to hurt her ex-husband, and the source claimed that the 2016 incident was investigated by the FBI and the report was viewed by the famous ex-couple, with Jolie deciding not to press charges.
"What motivation does anyone have to take up court time and public resources to submit an anonymous FOIA request for materials that have been in possession for years?" the source told People. "There is only one: inflicting the greatest amount of pain on her ex-husband." "It serves no purpose. It is harmful to the children and the whole family to have this made public."
According to NBC, which obtained the FBI report (which has not been publicized), the record recounts Jolie's version of the 2016 private plane incident where she claimed that Pitt was drinking and spilling beer on her during the several-hour flight to Los Angeles International Airport after a two-week family vacation, and the FBI report stated that an argument broke out on the plane when the couple disagreed over parenting methods, as reported by CNN. Jolie claimed in the FBI report that she inquired about Pitt’s annoyance, and when she asked him about it, he replied, "This kid looks like a Columbine kid."
The report alleges that Pitt "grabbed (Jolie) by the head and shook her, then grabbed her by the shoulders, shook her, and hit the plane's ceiling at least four times," according to NBC, and Jolie is alleged to have prevented Pitt from attacking another person on the plane who tried to intervene, and it was claimed he later caused $25,000 in damage by spilling wine on a seat on the plane.
NBC reported that the FBI report included a picture of Jolie's injured hand and elbow.
