Al-Yahya: Broader prospects for cooperation with Canada

Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya discussed this evening, Thursday, with Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Mélanie Joly, on the occasion of her official visit and the accompanying delegation to the State of Kuwait, the overall aspects of the close relations linking the two friendly countries and the frameworks for enhancing and developing them on various levels.

The (Foreign Ministry) stated in a statement that the two sides discussed the fields of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries, in addition to discussing ways to intensify joint coordination between the two sides regarding regional and international issues and the developments witnessed in the region, foremost of which are the developments of the Palestinian issue and the aggression on the Gaza Strip.

It pointed out that everything that would enhance the foundations of international security and peace and promote joint work towards maintaining the international order and consolidating and preserving the values and principles of international law was also discussed.

On her part, the Canadian minister expressed her country's pride in the level of close cooperation between the State of Kuwait and Canada at all levels and her aspiration for the continuation of this ongoing cooperation between the two friendly countries and to advance it to broader horizons and more comprehensive dimensions.
