All NATO member countries, except for the United States, will increase their military spending in the current year 2023.
This was announced by Mircea Dan Geoană, Deputy Secretary General of NATO, during his remarks at a session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, noting that this increase will be 8.3% compared to 2022 levels.
Geoană, who previously held the positions of Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the Senate in Romania, stated: "The year 2023 will be the ninth consecutive year of increased military spending by NATO countries, and we expect this year that European NATO countries and Canada will increase their military spending by 8.3%."
