A Pakistani court rejected on Thursday a request from former Prime Minister Imran Khan for bail in a case in which he is accused of leaking the contents of a secret diplomatic cable while in power.
This was stated by Naeem Haider Panjoota, Khan's lawyer, in a post on the "X" platform (formerly Twitter).
The court had already extended the detention of his client in prison until September 26, according to Bloomberg news agency.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party led by Khan has already appealed the trial.
The 70-year-old former cricket star faces a range of charges since he was ousted from the premiership through a parliamentary vote of no confidence last year.
