American media revealed on Wednesday that US President Joe Biden suggested to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to consider the lessons he would share with his successor in office.

The American newspaper "Politico" said that Biden discussed with his senior advisors the possibility that "Netanyahu's political days are numbered."

"Politico" quoted senior officials in the Biden administration, saying that Netanyahu's political future "was raised in White House consultations involving the US president."

The two administration officials added that Biden went as far as to suggest to Netanyahu "that he should think about the lessons he will share with his ultimate successor."

A current US official said that expectations indicate that the Israeli prime minister "will most likely remain in office for several more months, or at least until the early fighting phase of the Israeli military campaign in Gaza ends."

The Biden administration's assessment of Netanyahu's political future comes as the US president and his foreign policy team are trying to work with and diplomatically guide the Israeli prime minister.

The newspaper pointed out that Biden's advice to Netanyahu to consider the scenario he will leave for his successor implicitly indicated that "Netanyahu may not remain in power for the entire duration of what is likely to be a long conflict."

This comes amid fierce clashes between resistance factions and occupation army forces on several fronts in the Gaza Strip, which have resulted in the deaths of 16 soldiers and injuries to others since the start of the ground operations until now, while the number of Israeli casualties according to the latest announced count has reached 1,218 dead since October 7.

Earlier on Wednesday, Netanyahu pledged to continue the war against Hamas "until victory," despite "painful losses" among the occupation army ranks. In a televised speech hours after the army announced the killing of soldiers in the past 24 hours in battles in Gaza, he said: "We have achieved many significant accomplishments but also have painful losses," adding: "We are fighting a hard war, and it will be long."
