The number of airlines that have canceled their flights to Israel has increased; amid rising tensions in the region and anticipation of attacks from Iran and Hezbollah in response to the assassinations recently carried out by Israel.

The Spanish company "Air Europa" announced today, Saturday, the suspension of all its flights until next Wednesday, bringing the number of airlines that have taken this step to 15, according to Anadolu Agency.

Yesterday, the Italian airline announced the suspension of its flights to and from Tel Aviv until next Tuesday.

Earlier, "Air India," the German "Lufthansa," "United Airlines," and "Delta Air" from the United States announced the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv.

The Hungarian low-cost airline "Wizz Air" also announced the suspension of all its flights to Israel.

According to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, "Wizz Air" operates hundreds of flights weekly from Tel Aviv.

Estimates suggest that the cancellation of "Wizz Air" flights alone will affect about 15,000 Israelis in the coming days.

Israeli media broadcast scenes of Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, which appeared almost empty of travelers.

Israeli news platforms also aired videos showing the airport empty of aircraft, except for those belonging to the Israeli airline El Al.

On the other hand, airlines have canceled their flights to Beirut, including the French airline "Air France," which has extended the suspension of its flights to the Lebanese capital until next Tuesday.

Canada issued a notice on Thursday for Canadian aircraft to avoid Lebanese airspace for a month due to the risks of military activity threatening aviation.

The head of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, was assassinated in Tehran early Wednesday, just hours after the assassination of military leader of Lebanese Hezbollah, Fouad Shukr, in an airstrike on the southern suburbs of Beirut, while the Israeli occupying army claimed it confirmed the assassination of the commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades, Mohammed Deif, in an airstrike targeting Khan Younis in southern Gaza about three weeks ago.
