Many flights to and from Toronto Pearson International Airport were canceled today, Tuesday, as "strong" winter storms are expected to sweep across parts of the United States and Canada.
One airport employee said in a post on X today, "The winter storm in the northeastern United States is expected to bring strong winds and heavy snowfall to the area, so flights to Toronto from New York, New Jersey, Boston, and Philadelphia have been canceled."
North of the border, in Nova Scotia, another storm could bring up to 25 cm of snow to the Halifax area later this afternoon. Accordingly, 12 flights between Halifax Stanfield and Toronto Pearson have been canceled.
Travelers heading to or from Pearson can check for any delays or cancellations early through the airport's website, and no delays have been reported.
