The Quebec Solidarity Party "Québec solidaire" (QS) nominated Kenza Sassi for the Orford district in the upcoming provincial general elections to be held on October 3.
Kenza Sassi was born in France and is of Algerian and Italian descent. This young candidate, who lives in Magog where her electoral office is located, confirmed that: "I arrived in Quebec at the age of four and grew up in the Estrie region."
Her parents chose to settle in this area since the early nineties. Kenza Sassi confirms that she will give great importance to the environmental protection file.
She will also focus on the Memphremagog Lake file, which worries the residents. Among these residents is Louise Phlipot, a resident of Magog and a volunteer at the volunteer center in this city, who said she was living in Montreal before moving to Magog for its attractive nature.
For her, "the most beautiful thing about Magog is its nature and its clean air." She called on the candidates in this election to preserve natural resources, including Lake Memphremagog, which suffers from blue-green algae.
It is noteworthy that Kenza Sassi previously participated in the student protests that shook Quebec in 2012.
One of the leaders of this movement was Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois, the current co-leader of the Quebec Solidarity Party."
Kenza Sassi, who holds a bachelor's degree in law from Laval University and is preparing a doctorate in evidence and technology law at the University of Montreal, also said.
"When I was a student, I was politically involved in student associations. I discovered then that it is possible to be an active member of society."
