Recent reports issued by the Weather Network indicated that temperatures will be warmer than usual in almost every region in Canada in the coming days as the country experiences a series of high-pressure systems.
The network also said that temperatures could reach 20 degrees Celsius and possibly higher in many areas, including southern Alberta and Saskatchewan, as well as southern Ontario.
Toronto may also experience record temperatures this week.
For his part, Hamilton writes, the weather observer at the Weather Network: "The high-pressure systems are slow-moving, so the high continues to build over Ontario and Quebec until Friday."
He added: "Ottawa and southern Quebec will benefit from the warmth early Thursday, and Toronto will see the longest dry spell since last September."
This comes at a time when power has been cut off to tens of thousands of people in Quebec and Ontario, after a deadly blizzard caused the deaths of three people.
According to the Weather Network, temperatures in British Columbia will remain below normal until mid-month.
Some areas in Alberta may experience a period of mixed weather on Tuesday, with Edmonton and Red Deer expected to see freezing snow, while temperatures in Medicine Hat will remain between 15 and 19 degrees Celsius most of the day.
In Manitoba, low cloud cover and widespread snow accumulation will keep temperatures low across the province.
Temperatures in the Maritime provinces are also expected to vary significantly, as the low-pressure system east of Newfoundland will act as a barrier to any warm weather until Friday.
