Wanted man in truck theft in downtown Ottawa

Ottawa Police are requesting the public's assistance in identifying a suspect involved in the theft of a work truck from a residential building in Centretown.

The truck was stolen in January on Argyle Avenue between Elgin and Metcalfe streets.

The police said that on Tuesday, January 25, a man stole a vehicle on Argyle Street between Elgin and Metcalfe streets at around 9:30 a.m.

The vehicle was later seen with a driver and a passenger on Wellington West Street near the Holland Avenue intersection.

One person took a still photo of the driver in possession of the stolen vehicle at around 5:15 p.m. that afternoon.

The driver is described as:

Caucasian man

Mid-forties to late forties

Medium build

Brown/black beard with white parts

No description is available for the other passenger.

The police later recovered the vehicle in the nearby area after the suspect abandoned it.
