Very important: Ottawa Capital Police are searching for a homicide suspect and requesting public assistance

The Homicide Unit of Ottawa Police has obtained a widespread arrest warrant in Canada for Ashia Kiljaban, 16 years old, from Ottawa. 
 

He is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Sahour Yari in February.

The accused is described as a light brown-skinned man, approximately 175 cm tall, weighing 59 kg, with dark curly hair, sometimes wearing glasses. 

The police published a photo of the suspect (see the photo posted in the police tweet on Twitter) KILJABANE and reported that he is currently at large from William E. Hay Center and his whereabouts are unknown.

The police believe Kiljaban has access to firearms and should be considered armed and dangerous. 

The police urged the public to call 911 if any information about the suspect is available.

Today, Judge Dorval granted Ottawa Police permission to release the photo of the young criminal Ashia Kiljaban for media and community use for 5 days.

Accordingly, all online/social media posts of the suspect's photo must be removed by no later than Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 4:30 PM.
