A 6-year-old girl was subjected to various types of torture by her mother in the city of Salé, located in western Morocco.
Social media sites in Morocco buzzed with a video clip showing painful scenes of brutal torture including whipping and burning without mercy.
The girl appeared narrating the details of the suffering she lives through and the types of torture she endured from her mother, talking about violent beating and whipping all over her body with sharp tools in a way that makes her unable to breathe.
She added that her mother burned her after heating some household tools, confining her and tying her up in the room, leaving her like that without food or drink.
The scenes of torture shocked Moroccans who expressed their anger and condemnation of what the little girl was subjected to, demanding the harshest penalties against this brutal and inhumane mother, according to their words.
The Moroccan authorities arrested the offending mother, saying she is 25 years old and has a criminal record. They also seized a number of tools suspected to have been used by the mother to beat and burn the child, in addition to confiscating 900 grams of drugs. Medical and psychological care was provided to the minor girl, and custody was withdrawn from her.
