The UNRWA Commissioner-General Filippo Grandi stated that at least 289 relief workers have lost their lives in the ongoing war in Gaza, which has lasted more than 10 months.

He added in a post on his official page on the "X" platform, this morning Monday, that the number of relief workers associated with UNRWA who have been martyred due to the ongoing war has reached 207 so far.

He noted that nearly 885 health workers have died because of the war, saying that "many of them were killed while performing their duty and providing humanitarian assistance and medical care to the wounded and sick."

He pointed out that more than 160 journalists and media workers have been killed in Gaza while covering the devastating war and the ongoing violations of international humanitarian law.

He mentioned that the war on Gaza has violated all existing rules, emphasizing the importance of holding those responsible for the violations accountable.
