The health unit in the Brant area records two new monkeypox cases in the region.
Thus, the total for the area rises to three known cases of infection with the virus.
Ryan Spiteri, Communications Director at the Brant County Health Unit, said the health unit received notice of the two additional positive cases on Wednesday, August 10.
The Public Health Ontario epidemiology dashboard, last updated on August 11, shows a total of 511 confirmed monkeypox cases in the province, along with 10 probable cases.
The number of confirmed cases among males was 508, and females three cases. Although the health unit confirms it has three known cases, the OPH epidemiology dashboard shows the area has four cases.
