Ontario Premier Doug Ford said he is "very pleased" with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz being chosen as Kamala Harris's running mate on the Democratic presidential ticket.
His comments come just two months after the two met in Ford's office in the Ontario Legislature.
The two discussed how to enhance economic ties between Ontario and Minnesota, including in the agriculture and energy sectors, and Ford noted that there are many commonalities.
Ford added that he and Walz - who coached a high school football team - threw a football in his office and he gave Walz a Canadian Football League ball.
There are also images from the meeting on Ford's social media showing that he gave the governor a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey and presented Walz with a Minnesota license plate that read "FORD."
The trade value between Ontario and Minnesota is $7.6 billion.
