Tunisia praises its bilateral relations with Canada

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Othman Jerandi, confirmed the readiness of the Tunisian authorities to provide all suitable conditions that enable the new Canadian ambassador to perform her duties in the best way, praising the strong relations between Tunisia and Canada and his country's readiness to develop relations in various fields. This came during Minister Othman Jerandi's meeting yesterday evening with the new Canadian ambassador to Tunisia, Laurin Degen. Jerandi also reviewed the components and stages of the reform process in Tunisia, which will culminate in the legislative elections on December 17, affirming that Tunisia's commitment to the democratic path represents a firm choice that enshrines respect for the principles of democracy and public freedoms. On the other hand, the Canadian ambassador expressed her determination to strengthen bilateral relations with Tunisia and enrich areas of cooperation and partnership between the two countries, emphasizing the special importance that Canada places on supporting Tunisia and promoting cooperative relations with it. She also indicated that her country will participate with a high-level delegation in the 18th Francophonie Summit, hosted by the island of Djerba on November 19 and 20, expressing her confidence in Tunisia's ability to successfully host this international summit.
