The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, announced yesterday afternoon that she is undergoing cancer treatment, prompting leaders around the world to quickly offer words of support.
In a statement, a spokesperson for King Charles III said: "Very proud of Catherine for her bravery in speaking out," adding that the King has remained in close contact with his beloved son's wife throughout the past weeks."
The palace also mentioned that Charles and Queen Camilla will continue to offer their love and support to all family members during this difficult time."
King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer in January, after undergoing routine prostate surgery at the same hospital where Kate
was having surgery.
For his part, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issued a statement on X, writing: "My thoughts are with the Princess of Wales, her children, and the entire royal family after the courageous news of her cancer diagnosis.. On behalf of Canadians, I send my support as she undergoes treatment, and we all wish her a speedy recovery."
Prince Harry and Meghan released a statement on Friday afternoon regarding the cancer diagnosis, saying: "We wish Kate and the family health and recovery, and hope they can do so with privacy and peace."
