Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said today that the act of vandalism at the Islamic Center in Cambridge and the rise of Islamophobia across the country is troubling, hateful, and unacceptable.
Trudeau tweeted on his (X) platform account saying: "I strongly condemn this incident and stand with Islamic communities against this hatred, and we must confront and combat Islamophobia together."
Waterloo city police are investigating hate-motivated writings on the walls of the Islamic Center in Cambridge.
The police reported that they received a notification last Monday about writings on the walls of the center located on Dunbar Road.
The center announced that this is the first time it has witnessed any kind of hate-motivated crime since its establishment in 1989.
