Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that Canada is unable to provide significant support to Europe with gas supplies in the near future.
Trudeau said: "Honestly, there is not much we can do in the short term to help face the coming winter hardships."
He did not specify the type of assistance European consumers can rely on from Canada, but he indicated that he plans to discuss this issue with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who will visit Canada on Sunday.
Trudeau added: "We plan to dedicate a large part of our talks with the Chancellor to the short-term challenges and what we can do and where."
