In a terrifying report about hatred, especially Islamophobia, the Canadian Islamic Council quoted that statistics from police authorities across the country indicate that incidents of anti-Islamic and anti-Palestinian racism have escalated.

According to the Toronto Police Department in Toronto, the increase is an astonishing 1600% since the beginning of last month. 

This comes with the significant increase in complaints and reports about such incidents that the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood continues to receive.  

This reality must not become the new normal, as it is completely unacceptable and dangerous  while our communities deserve better. 

It is time for our leaders to take a clear stand against these forms of hatred. And work with communities to put forth a plan for real change.
