Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that the Israeli attacks in Gaza are at the top of his talks with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Tuesday, according to Sky News Arabia in a breaking news report.

The Turkish presidency announced on Sunday that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will make an official visit to Egypt next Wednesday at the invitation of his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The Communications Department at the presidency said that Erdoğan will discuss in Cairo the steps that can be taken to improve bilateral relations and activate high-level bilateral cooperation mechanisms.

The visit, which comes at a time when the Middle East region is experiencing tension due to the war in Gaza, is considered important for the normalization process in bilateral relations between Egypt and Turkey.

Steps are expected to be taken to increase the volume of defense industries and trade between the two countries during the talks that the visit will witness.

It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian and Turkish presidents met for the first time after years of estrangement during the opening of the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.

They then met again during the G20 summit in the Indian capital New Delhi in September of last year.

The two sides agreed to strengthen ties and cooperation, raise diplomatic relations between the two countries, and exchange ambassadors.
