Brewers factory stated that it has received many negative messages and messages expressing hatred since hosting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Trudeau had visited the Yeomanville factory to support Robert Rock, the Liberal Party candidate for the federal by-election in Durham.
The factory indicated that it received many negative Google reviews, in addition to negative emails and phone calls, and the factory owner commented through a post saying, "I am not a politician, and your comments and phone calls hurt me."
One Facebook user wrote a comment, "I definitely will not visit this place again," and another wrote, "Small business owners in Yeomanville will not forget your stance one day, you are not one of us."
Rock issued a comment on these events with a video in which he calls on the community to support the company.
