German cities expect to organize more extensive demonstrations against right-wing extremism during the weekend.
About 30,000 people are expected to participate in an anti-"Alternative for Germany" party demonstration in the city of Düsseldorf at noon (1100 GMT) today, Saturday. Larger events are also scheduled to be held in the cities of Aachen, Mannheim, Marburg, as well as other cities.
In the city of Osnabrück, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius intends to join the demonstrators in the streets, while in the city of Wittenberg, Reiner Haseloff, Prime Minister of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, also intends to join the demonstrators.
Demonstrations are also planned tomorrow, Sunday, in Hamburg and other locations.
