The United Arab Emirates has pledged $100 million to support "development projects in countries affected by the phenomenon of irregular migration," according to the UAE news agency on Sunday, July 23, 2023.
The agency stated that the President of the UAE made this pledge during a speech at the "Conference on Development and Migration" in Rome.
The President of the UAE said that the conference confirms 'the desire of our countries to enhance cooperation, integration, and joint action on an international issue of great importance and sensitivity, which is the issue of irregular migration that serves the aspirations of peoples towards stability, development, and prosperity.'
He also stressed that the phenomenon of irregular migration, which leads to the loss of thousands of human lives every year, is one of the most serious challenges facing today's world.
He emphasized that this phenomenon needs a comprehensive approach based primarily on development and stability, as development brings stability and peace, whether within communities or at the international level, according to what was published by the 'WAM' agency.
