The Danish Foreign Minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, apologized during a phone call with his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf for the criminal wave of burning the Holy Quran in front of the embassies of Islamic countries.
The Algerian newspaper "Al-Nahar" reported that the Danish minister expressed during the call his regret and apology for the criminal wave of burning the Holy Quran in front of the embassies of Islamic countries, including the Algerian embassy in Copenhagen.
It also added that the Danish minister described these acts as unacceptable, emphasizing that they completely contradict the traditions of welcome, openness, and tolerance established in Danish society.
Lars Løkke Rasmussen informed his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf that his government is in the process of finalizing a legislative text aimed at putting an end to these atrocious practices.
He also stated that this legal text will be presented to Parliament when it resumes its session in four weeks.
