The King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan declared that the Palestinian people must attain their independent state with sovereignty over the 1967 borders, emphasizing the necessity of ending the cycles of killing that innocent civilians in Gaza and the West Bank pay the price for.
King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein said in a speech before the House of Representatives today, Wednesday, that our region will not enjoy security and stability without a comprehensive and just peace based on the two-state solution, pointing out that there is neither security nor peace without a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Jordanian monarch added that we will not abandon our role regardless of the challenges in defending the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
