The Egyptian Red Crescent received, today Thursday, an aid plane coming from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, to deliver it to the Palestinian Red Crescent in the Gaza Strip.

The Egyptian Red Crescent Society works around the clock in continuous communication and coordination with its counterpart in the Gaza Strip.

The Egyptian Red Crescent announced that it is monitoring and providing all urgent humanitarian needs during these events, and delivering aid from inside and outside Egypt.

Egypt called - in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today - on all countries and regional and international organizations wishing to provide humanitarian and relief aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, to alleviate their suffering in response to the ongoing and violent Israeli bombardment, to deliver this aid to Al-Arish International Airport, which has been designated by the Egyptian authorities to receive international humanitarian aid from various parties and international organizations.

Egypt confirmed that humanitarian responsibility and global ethical values compel people with a conscience in all parts of the world to take the initiative to provide humanitarian support to the Palestinian people, who are currently suffering from numerous dangers.

It added: "Contrary to the inaccurate information being circulated that bears no relation to reality, the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip is open for operation and has not been closed at any stage since the onset of the current crisis, but the destruction of its basic facilities on the Palestinian side due to repeated Israeli bombardments prevents its normal operation. Egypt demanded that Israel refrain from targeting the Palestinian side of the crossing so that restoration and repair efforts can succeed, enabling it to function as a crossing and a lifeline to support our Palestinian brothers in the sector."
