Canadian Ambassador to Poland stated that Warsaw wants allies to remain engaged in the war that has been ongoing on the other side of its border for two years.
Katherine Goodin said during her speech on the second anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, "The war represents a real and present threat to the people of Poland."
Her comments come following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's unannounced visit to Ukraine to show solidarity with the besieged country, where he pledged further military, financial aid, and long-term support.
Goodin confirmed that Poland and Canada have worked closely together in military efforts to train troops and provide assistance.
Noting that Poland has also expressed appreciation for Canada's role in guarding NATO's eastern flank in Latvia.
But amid reports of declining support for Ukraine in other Western countries, Goodin says Poland wants to ensure other countries continue to take the war seriously, given the real threat it poses to them."
