The American electric car manufacturer Tesla intends to offer its first Cyber Beast truck series for sale in a public auction, giving its customers a chance to avoid waiting months to get the top tier in the Cybertruck electric truck family that Tesla introduced late last year.
Bloomberg news agency pointed out that the Sotheby’s Motorsport auction platform, launched last year, will list the car for sale without a minimum acceptable price, which means it can be sold at any price the online auction reaches, ending on April 9.
The Motorsport platform is managed by a company owned by Sotheby’s and Dupont Registry Group, which specializes in selling insurance services and organizing special automotive events, along with other companies.
The auction organizers expect the price to easily exceed the suggested price on Tesla’s website, which is $99,900.
For his part, Colin Cash, head of the Sotheby’s Motorsport platform, said, “As we all know, no prior reservation means anything is possible at the auction.” The auction will start at $75,000.
The power of the Cyber Beast's engines is 845 horsepower, which is significantly higher than the 600 horsepower of the Cybertruck currently on the market. At the same time, the range of the Cyber Beast is about 20 miles less than that of the Cybertruck. Its price is also higher than the Cybertruck’s price of $79,990.
The Cyber Beast needs 2.6 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour, while the standard Cybertruck light truck’s acceleration rate is 4.1 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. The Cyber Beast’s top speed reaches 130 miles per hour, compared to 112 miles per hour for the front-wheel-drive Cybertruck light truck.
