The American electric car manufacturer Tesla announced on Monday that it has accepted the resignation of its Chief Financial Officer Zachary Kirkhorn, appointing instead its accounting director Vaibhav Taneja, although this will not take effect until the beginning of next year.
Following his resignation on Friday, Kirkhorn stated in a tweet on LinkedIn that he is proud of his experience at Tesla and the work he has done over the past 13 years, but he did not mention the reasons for his resignation from Tesla; however, he will remain there until the end of this year.
It is noted that Taneja joined Tesla after the company, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, acquired SolarCity in 2016, and has since held the position of Chief Financial Officer of Tesla in addition to his role as a principal accounting officer.
On the trading front, the news led to a 1.04% drop in Tesla's stock - listed on the Nasdaq technology index - at the beginning of trading in the American session after the opening bell, trading at $251.42 per share, after Tesla refrained from clarifying the reason for its CFO's resignation.
