The Sudanese army announced the existence of precise information about a conspiracy operation and strong indications of the involvement of "regional and local" parties in the war with the "Rapid Support Forces".

A statement issued by the army mentioned, "Our follow-up of precise information about the chapters of the conspiracy operation and strong indications of the involvement of regional and local parties will be disclosed at the appropriate time," without further details.

The statement clarified that "the general situation is stable except for limited skirmishes around the command area and the airport".

It added, "The beginning of the second phase at dawn today for the process of securing the areas surrounding the general command up to the center of Khartoum, coinciding with the rest of the areas gradually".

It continued: "The rebels fled from Merowe Airport (north) and attempted to carry out looting and plundering in the city, which required decisive action by the air forces, causing them heavy losses".

It pointed out "the continuation of restrictions on citizens, the burning of the Khartoum Bahri market, terrorizing citizens in various areas inside and outside the capital, and establishing checkpoints in several areas for looting".

According to the statement: "A ceasefire proposal was presented by international parties for 24 hours for humanitarian reasons, which was approved by the armed forces, but the rebel militias did not adhere to it and their skirmishes around the command and the airport and the aforementioned actions did not stop".

It said: "Our forces in the Fifth Division foiled a failed storming attempt west of Al-Obeid city and inflicted heavy losses on the rebel militia. We maintain a precise level of command and control over our forces and their directions to the areas and divisions to continue receiving any rebel elements who surrender themselves in implementation of the General Commander's decisions on general amnesty and accepting joining the ranks of the armed forces".

For the fourth consecutive day, Sudan is witnessing clashes between the army and the "Rapid Support Forces" in Khartoum and other cities, with both parties exchanging accusations of initiating attacks on each other's headquarters in addition to claims of controlling sites related to each of them.

In 2013, the "Rapid Support Forces" were formed to support government forces in their fight against armed rebel movements in the Darfur region (west), then took on tasks including combating irregular migration at the border and maintaining security before being described by the army as "rebellious" following the outbreak of clashes.
