About one in five Canadians say they tested positive for COVID-19 before April 2022, according to a national survey conducted by Statistics Canada.
The survey, published on September 6, found that 19.5 percent of respondents said they tested positive for COVID-19 before April 1, 2022.
Among them, 9.8 percent said they tested positive on a polymerase chain reaction test, and 9.7 percent said they received a positive result on a rapid antigen test.
Among the main reasons people believed they were infected: having COVID-19 symptoms, exposure to a suspected family member; and exposure to someone outside their family suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19.
