Testing and training for employees on the new light rail transit line between north and south in Ottawa continues, but there is no information on when passengers might be able to ride the Trillium Line this summer.

The new line between north and south will transport passengers between Bayview Station and Riverside South, with a spur to Ottawa International Airport.

The new LRT line was originally scheduled to open in August 2022, but the launch has been delayed by two years due to construction delays.

Katrina Camposarconi Stebbins, the public information officer at OC Transpo, said during media statements, "At this time, we continue to make progress in testing, training, and construction."

This phase is essential to help us achieve our goal of providing a safe and reliable service by ensuring that all systems work well together and giving our employees the opportunity to gain more experience in operating trains on the new lines. Additionally, TransitNEXT continues to conduct final tests on construction activities and demonstrates to the city that they are capable of fulfilling their maintenance responsibilities.
