The Saudi Authority for Surveillance and Anti-Corruption (Nazaha) revealed that it seized amounts exceeding 500 million Saudi Riyals (133 million US dollars) in the case of the King Abdulaziz University director.

The spokesperson for "Nazaha" told the Saudi "Al Arabiya" channel: "The embezzled amounts exceed 100 million, and there are also other amounts totaling approximately more than 500 million Riyals."

The spokesperson for "Nazaha" pointed out that the Authority for Surveillance and Anti-Corruption took the necessary measures against her to prevent disposition of the funds and return them to the state treasury.

The spokesperson for "Nazaha" said that the total penalties expected to be imposed on the university director could reach 25 years in prison.

A royal order issued on Thursday stated the dismissal of Dr. Abdulrahman bin Obeid Al-Youbi, director of King Abdulaziz University, "based on what the Authority for Surveillance and Anti-Corruption reported about his commission of crimes of exploiting job influence for personal benefit, embezzlement from the funds of King Abdulaziz University, money laundering, and forgery," according to the official Saudi Press Agency.
