The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said that Miles Sanderson, the suspect in a fatal stabbing northeast of Saskatoon during the weekend, has been arrested. They say he was found near the town of Rosthern, Saskatchewan, on the fourth day of a massive manhunt carried out by all police units.
Ten people were killed and 18 others injured in attacks that took place on Sunday in the James Smith Cree Nation area and the nearby Weldon village, and another suspect who is Sanderson's brother was found dead in a grassy area near the crime scene later on Monday.
The discovery of Sanderson’s location came shortly after an alert was sent through Saskatchewan’s emergency alert system warning that an armed person with a knife was driving a white Chevrolet Avalanche reported stolen.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police thanked all residents for providing all relevant information regarding potential sightings of the suspect.
